Description
This1933 Chicago World’s Fair green art deco pottery stein
measures about 6-1/2” tall. To my knowledge there were 4 colors made, gold/yellow, cream and green and brown with the last 2 being the most common. This stein has no hairlines or cracks, stains and crazing, but does have several flea bites, on the chin of nude figured handle and a couple on the rim (see pictures). It also has an unusual dark area opposite from the handle down about 2-3” from the rim. These were made along with countless other items and offered as souvenirs during the fair in 1933-34 to celebrate “A Century of Progress” in Chicago. Thanks for looking.
