Description
This is a very nice, lightly circulated, still somewhat crispy,
"500 Yen"
note from the
"Bank of Japan"
. It carries no printed date but this type was first issued in 1951.
It pictures Iwakura Tomomi. He was the Japanese statesman who led the
"Meiji Revolution"
and a mission to Europe and America, learning modern techniques. He died in 1883.
