. I have been collecting, buying, and selling CASE and other brands of vintage and modern pocket knives since 1973.

CASE XX USA 5172 “Bulldog”. This is the second or “transition” model, made in 1965-1966.
CASE XX USA on front tang, 5172 on back tang, HAND MADE IN USA on blade back.
5-1/4” closed, brass liners, old style pinned CASE shield.
The blade has super strong snap.
The blade has a no side to side wobble.
Nice genuine Sambar stag handles, great color and texture.
Similar coloring of stag handles back and front.
The handles have no cracks or chips.
A near mint knife - never carried or sharpened.
Original CASE XX BULLDOG etch.
Calling it “near mint” only due to some light surface tarnish and some fine scratches on each side of the blade.
Includes the original brown BULLDOG box. The box is in mint condition.
Also included is an original Case wrapper with PROPER CARE OF YOUR CASE POCKET KNIFE instructions.
The wrapper is in excellent condition.
Case discontinued the use of these printed wrappers in the early 1980’s.
