Kennedy, John F. (1917-1963) - Typed letter signed regarding the Middle Eastern situation35. President of the United States.
Typed letter signed “John Kennedy”. 1p., 8.0 x 10.5 inch, on his U.S. Senate letterhead, Washington, 1957 March 22. Addressed to Prof. Willard Thorp (1899-1992), an economist who served as an advisor to Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower and Kennedy and who helped draft the Marshall Plan. In full: “This will acknowledge and thank you for your recent letter discussing the Middle Eastern situation and limitations of oil exports. I am enclosing copies of my two Middle Eastern speeches and most recent press release relative to imports of residual fuel oil, in the thought you might be interested in them. I appreciated your writing to me, and hope you will continue to send me any suggestions or comments you may have in the future.” Staple holes at the top, else very good condition with a fine, bold signature.
