This is a very charming pair of vintage chintz candleholders in the most luscious exotic bird pattern. Unusual lavender purple background with yellow roses, foliage, and colorful exotic birds in blues and red. Black trim and lapis blue candle cups. Just gorgeous! In excellent condition - no chips. No crazing on the outside, very light crazing on the ivory inside, which doesn't show. One is a tiny bit taller than the other by about an eighth of an inch. From a smoke-free home. They are unmarked, save for the number "7" on one, and a small green mark on the other. I believe they are by Baker & Co England. I found examples of the exact same print by this maker. They are similar the the purple variation of Crown Ducal bird print. They measure 6 5/8" tall and 6 1/2" tall.
