    Hi, I am Steve Pfeiffer, author of the book
    Collecting Case knives - Identification and Price Guide
    . I have been collecting, buying, and selling CASE and other brands of vintage and modern pocket knives since 1973.
    I am offering some fine collectible pocket knives for sale. See my other auction listings for more collectible knives.
    This is a vintage Case 6249 “Copperhead” pattern pocket knife.
    The tang stamp is CASE XX USA 6 dot 1974.
    Note: The bolster partially covers the row of dots.
    Based on the positions of the visible dots, I believe it is a six dot.
    The knife is 4” closed with brass liners and pinned CASE oval shield.
    The blade steel is CV (carbon) steel.
    Both blades have strong snap with half stops.
    Both blades are tight with no side-to-side wobble.
    Nice red bone handles.
    The handles have no cracks or damage.
    Used and carried a bit, blades have been lightly sharpened.
    As the photos show, the blades have patina and stains on the original factory finish.
    Handling rubs, light scratches to the frame, bolsters, backsprings.
    A fine old CASE copperhead, a great knife to clean up.

    Any knives listed as having BONE handles have handles made of Bovine bone from the South American Zebu cattle.
    Any knives listed as having STAG handles have handles made of Sambar deer antler - naturally shed.
