Vintage Texaco "Think BIG with..." Pitcher/Mug
This vintage Siesta Ware Texaco advertising collectible is made of thick amber glass with two brass bands attached to a wooden handle with four screws. Also comes with its (4) matching mugs, each with its own recreational display.
Texaco used this advertising piece back in the 60's and 70's as a means of attracting customers to fill-up at their gas stations. Story has it that for each fill-up you first received one small barrel shaped glass similar to this large pitcher. Upon reaching six small glasses, the next visit got you this Large Pitcher to complete the set.
These are all is in very good condition and measures approx.. 8 1/4" tall, 4 3/4" at the very base of the glass, approx. 6 1/2" at its girth, 4 1/2" at the top and approx. 9 1/2" from the outside edge of the handle to the outer edge of the glass. The smaller mugs are about 5 1/2" tall.
If I had to say something bad about these items I would say they are dusty/dirty from being used as a display for years. Really not that bad thought, nothing you would not clean from acquiring
something new anyways. Also, some normal wear from age, but again nothing bad. No chips, no cracks, nothing broken or damaged.
